Hygiene

A number of products are procedures are followed to ensure best practice while treating your feet.

Autoclave

An autoclave ensures that all equipment is sterilised to 136 degrees for a minimum of 3 minutes per cycle.  A printout is kept showing this.

Water Distiller

Only distilled water can be used in the autoclave so I distill it with this machine every few days.

This photo also shows the 'dirty area' on my work station, where i put instruments that are ready to be cleaned.

Cleaning solutions

The autoclave must be cleaned every few cycles with this solution.  Instruments that have been left in damp conditions may get a coating that can be removed with Surgi Stain remover.

Clean Area

This shows the 'clean area' of my work station.  Here, wearing gloves, I pack the sterilised instruments into the sterilised pouches ready for use on customers.

Sharps bin

My smaller sharps bin, which i carry around to customers, is emptied in to this much larger one ready for disposal through suitable channels.

Wipes

Clinell wipes are used for surface areas and to wipe foot trays after debris has been removed.

Gloves

Gloves are worn during treatments and cleaning of instruments.

Foot hygiene

Either sterile water or Clinisept is used during treatments to both clean the feet prior to treatment and to ensure they are left debris / nail dust free.

Face masks

Face masks can be used on customer request or if severe fungal nails are being parred to mitigate inhalation of dust.
